POSTS MISSING DURING IMPORT

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello
I am trying to export my posts from wordpress.com to self-hosted wordpress.org site. However, a lot of posts and pages are missing when the import is complete.
How can I fix this issue and import all my posts and pages to wordpress.org from wordpress.com?

  • Hi –

I would suggest creating a new site export and importing it again. The content shouldn’t duplicate and any missed posts should get pulled in. Make sure your internet connection isn’t interrupted during the process either.

If that doesn’t help, write back with the site URL of where you are exporting from.

It will also be helpful to know which specific posts are missing from the export file.

Thank you so much for the response.

I tried creating new site export and importing again several times. It did not work.

When bulk import did not work, I imported single posts using export by categories in wordpress.com. That took a lot of effort and time.

I was trying to export from http://www.justiceandpolity.wordpress.com to http://www.justiceandpolity.com which is self-hosted on wordpress.org.

When trying to bulk import using the plugin “WordPress importer” that is there on WordPress.org, only 10-12 posts were imported out of over 50. (these 10-12 posts were the earliest posts that I wrote on wordpress.com) The same is true of pages and media. I had to manually import all other items.

Please guide me accordingly so that I don’t have to face this problem again in the future.

    Thank you.
