Posts not Appearing in Reader

I’m a new blogger and have found that some of my posts get a lot of traffic while others get literally NONE. I was curious as to why this was. I discovered that some of my posts are not appearing in the reader, while others are. I went into settings and made sure my site can be indexed by search engines, which it can, so why wouldn’t everything appear in the reader? It is frustrating because some of my posts are never seen by anyone except a couple of my loyal followers. Help?
