posts not being shared throughout wordpress users as they used to be

In the fairly recent past, when I published a new blog post, the published post would come up on my screen with a side bar on the left, suggesting extra tags I might like to use… this screen also let me know the post was published, and, I suspect, shared it more widely to a Google/Wordpress audience, via Reader.
These days when I hit Publish, it doesn’t go to the homepage, it publishes but remain on the edit page, much as if I’d only done a ‘Save Draft’. Yes, it is published, but I suspect there is a glitch, because since this has been happening, I haven’t had nearly as many bloggers like my posts. Of course, not every post is going to have loads of ‘likes’, but I went from 18 stars on a post last August to no more than 1 on any post since. This leads me to believe that my posts are not being disseminated throughout the blogosphere like they once were.
Can you please confirm or deny? I have no way of testing this hypothesis until my posts start publishing correctly.
