Posts not displaying in topics

    My posts are not displaying in the “topics” (under read blogs) for the categories they are published under. My most recent posts about Epilepsy did not display under the Epilepsy topic, even though they were published under that category, until I also added epilepsy as a tag. It is my understanding that I should not have to tag my posts with their categories. I do not think it is that my subject matter does not match enough, as Purple Day is all about Epilepsy awareness, and like I said, once I added an Epilepsy tag, they then displayed under that topic.

    Also, I have not found any of my posts displayed under the chronic illness topic even though that is the overarching theme of my blog and they are published under that category. Again, I don’t think this is a content problem. For instance, my “Curiously Seeking Beauty to Escape the Dark Chocolate Downs of Chronic Illness” even had chronic illness in the title.

    Let’s begin with me telling you that I have been here for nearly 6 years and the flow of traffic from the WordPress.com glabl tags pages to my blogs has been negligible. If your posts are not appearing on the glablt tags pages the first thing to read is this > global tags > missing posts The display of posts under the most popular tags is randomized as there are over 31 million blogs and about 7 posts being published every minute. Beyond that I can’t offer you any help.

    I actually read that already. Been trying to fix this on my own for awhile. And like I said, the last round I tagged them with their own category & then they did show up. As for the topic lists, most of my categories are not that popular so when I pull them up, there are posts much older than mine listed. It seems for some reason my categories aren’t being submitted for these. I should not have to tag my post with its category should I?

    It would be nice to be listed, if nothong else to help build a community of bloggers. But, maybe I’m putting too much energy into fixing this glitch? If I’m reading your post correctly, you’re saying the WordPress site and topic lists don’t generate that much traffic anyway?
