Posts not displaying portions before <!–more–> tag (DePo Masthead theme)
-
Hi,
I am looking for some help. Just now, I noticed that when I open a post, the post begins to display only after where I inserted the <!–more–> tag in the blog. For instance, on my main page I have an entry titled “With a Twist”. In this posting, the more tag is inserted after the words, “And those pears behind the glass? Those come from Cambria, too.” When I click on the post, the entire first half of the story is gone, and starts only after the more tag. This goes for all posts, including those that are not on the front page, meaning people cannot access the first half of any old posts that don’t appear on the front page. This just started happening. Any ideas? This is not just my blog… It’s happening for others with the same theme.
Thanks,

First off, never put a more tag within a paragraph, blockquote, ordered or unordered list, always make it as if it was its own paragraph. Also, if you have a large block of formatted text (color, italic, bold, etc.) end the formatting before you place the more tag and then start it again after the more tag.
That said, on all three of the posts on your main page, when I click on the more tag, I get the full post on the page that appears (single-post page). There is no missing text.

Hi,
WordPress just fixed it, actually. Here’s the explanation they provided:

Thanks for reporting this.
The problem has now been fixed.Let us know if you encounter any additional problems with the theme – we’ve made some changes to it today so it can be translated into languages other than English.
Normally, there shouldn’t be any :)*
Thanks WordPress!

You’re welcome.
I forgot to mention that placing a more tag within a paragraph and such, or within a block of formatted text can cause your blog to go wacky.
