Posts not getting unique URLs

    Problem:
    Article posts are all being given the URL of eqbay.co/articles upon publishing. This creates a loop where all the articles listed in the articles archive just link back to the articles archive.

    The content is all still there, the post just gets a URL of /articles for some reason.

    Attempting to visit any of the posts, even directly using the post ID (via ?p=) results in a redirect back to /articles via the redirect_canonical() function.

    This also caused imported article URLs to be rewritten to just be /articles.

    Diagnostic steps taken:
    1) Disabled all plugins
    2) Reverted to Twenty TwentyOne theme
    3) Rebuilt permalinks
    4) Manually set a canonical URL for an article
    5) Changed permalink configuration

    None of these had any effect. The one that changed any behavior was disabling redirect_canonical() via PHP. This resulted in the direct post URL (?p=) not redirecting to /articles, but did not fix the assigned article pretty URLs.

    I have checked an older staging version of the site that hasn’t been touched in a few weeks and found the issue there as well, so it isn’t anything I’ve done recently.

    I’m running the latest version of WP and Woocommerce on AWS Lightsail (Bitnami).

    Here is my rewrite list for the article category using WP CLI:
