Posts not opening at top of page

    This appears to be a problem with the ‘read more’ tag or how I’ve used it. When I click on any of the ‘read more’ tags on the blog post extracts, the full post actually opens below the portion already selected on the blog posts page as the extract. Whereas, the post needs to open at the top of the page, with the lead photo and title. Any ideas as to a fix?

    Hi there!
    Unfortunately, the MORE tag is meant to open the post that has been hidden by the tag at the point where you inserted the tag. There are no provisions for controlling where it opens beyond this.

    Instead of the MORE tag you might try EXCERPTS:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/excerpts/

    You could have it open from that point into a new page by using pagination:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/nextpage/

    I think the excerpts will do better for you

    Thanks Dave, that’s a great answer. I really appreciate it. I’ll try tonight. Though it’s a shame it works like that. Most blog sites go to the lead photo. Thanks again . Andy
