posts not showing on home page

  im using the 2014 theme that has the neat slider feature on the homepage, however underneath the slider my posts are not showing. it says: Nothing found/ready to publish your first post? get started here.

  If you place every post in the slider then none will appear below. When a featured post with a featured image is placed in the slider then it does not display on the same page ie. on the front page of the blog in the stream of posts. The slider is only for some posts. It’s not intended to be used for all posts. Read the detailed theme description at http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/twentyfourteen/
