Hi, caitsith73! It looks like you’ve assigned your About page as your front page, which is great. Assuming you have created some blog posts as well, there are two more steps you have to follow.
1. Create a second page just for displaying your posts. Do this by following steps 4-8 in this Front Page tutorial.
2. Go to Appearance > Menu and create (or edit) a custom menu for your site, adding that ‘Posts’ page you just created to your menu. You can follow these instructions for editing Custom Menus.
@strangeandbeautifuldoorway, does that answer your question as well? If your problem turns out to be different, it’s a good idea to start your own thread so that we can work on solving them separately.

I think I’ve got it LOL strangeandbeautifuldoorway, in widgets, add the recent posts. They come up as ( I’ve called mine ” posts ” ) on my static home page ) Try that :-)

Argh no joy for me afterall! The picture problem is sorted though, thanks for that! I have a menu and two extra pages but cant find out how to add my blog posts to it, they seem to be completely missing from my page. I couldn’t find them in the widgets section either. Sorry Caitsith73 for hijacking your post, I thought we had the same problem but I think it might be different as your is sorted…

Thank you, lettergrade :-) I think its worked now. I’ve done a post with a bit about me, but I think I messed up and should of done it as a page ? I would like it if it was listed as ” about me ” underneath what I have at the moment. At the moment I’ve got at the bottom of my static page: Posts and under that is welcome ( which is my static page anyway) im sorry if im not making sense !
Can I do this or can I change the ” post ” to a page?thank you :-)

Ok, im nearly there lol Hope you got it sorted strageandbeautifuldoorway :-)
So how do I let people know about me? Ive typed in my blog add in Google and nothing comes up? Am I doing this all wrong ? Ive invited a friend via email in the users option, but even a shortcut doesn’t work. The only http I have is the one that says admin. Ive typed in the http add and still nothing. Ive got fbook widget but don’t know how anyone can visit through that either.
If anyone can help id be so grateful. Ive literally bee going round in circles with that ALL day lol
Thank you

@caitsith73, I see what you’ve done with the Posts widget, but it would be a good idea to follow my instructions up above to create a menu as well. With your particular theme, that menu would appear as a permanent bar at the bottom of the screen (even though in Appearance > Menu, it’s called ‘Header Menu’), showing the links you choose to put in it.
Yes, ‘About Me’ is a good candidate for a page rather than a post. Think of Posts as temporary, timely content, and Pages as content that stays forever. Posts vs. Pages
The quickest way to fix this is create a new page, copy and paste your content into it, then delete the old post. You can register your blog to appear in search engine results by following the instructions in these two support docs. But keep in mind that it takes a lot of time to be indexed, and as you add more interesting, relevant content regularly, you’ll see better results.
Search Engines
Webmaster ToolsIn terms of your other questions, I’m having a hard time keeping up. ;) Could you make a list of exactly what you want to do, so I can see what I can do to show you how?

@strangeandbeautifuldoorway, I see you’ve added some menu items. You’ve done a good job of adding posts by category, and they’re showing up as dropdown menus (Healing Beliefs and Walking Through the Doorway).
Have you created a page to display all your posts at once? You may want to do that so you can add one menu item that shows all posts at once.
Check out the instructions (4-8) again. And one tip about creating your top-level menu items (Therapies and Thoughts and General Ramblings). I notice they’re bad links right now. Are those going to be categories with posts in them? Or do you want them to just function as dropdowns?
If you just want them to be headers, and not actually link to pages or categories, you could delete the current ones and instead add them as unlinked links this way:
1. Go to Appearance > Menus and select the ‘Links’ box on the left.
2. Add anything in the URL and Link Text fields (you’re just going to delete what you enter in a minute).
3. Click ‘Add to Menu’ and then drag the item to the right spot in your menu.
4. Delete the text you entered in the URL and Link Text fields (here, they’ll show up as URL and ‘Navigation Label’)
5. Save Menu and check your site to make sure your menu is displaying the way you want. -
So sorry lettergrade, thank you.
I have given the custom menu a go, I hope I’ve got it right? I’ve also changed the about me to a page instead of a post. Thank you :-)Im struggling to sort out how I can get people to visit, as typing n my blog address isn’t working.
Ive invited 2 people via the users option ( email ) but im unsure if it will work? I cant even find myself at the moment !
I there something Ive not done ?
Sorry for all the questionsCait

You got it right! But I think you accidentally placed two of the links as sub-menu items. You just need to shift them over to make them show up as top-level menu items. This might help: Changing the Order & Creating Sub-Menus
Typing in your blog address isn’t working? Make sure you’re visiting here: http://pureandflawlesspix.wordpress.com/
When you send out invitations through the WordPress.com dashboard, make sure you send them out with the role of Follower. You don’t want to accidentally invite someone to be an administrator of your blog, and give them admin access. Here is info on the User Roles at your disposal when you invite people.
Outside of WordPress, you could send an email to your friends, or post your link on Facebook, etc. That might start you off with some visitors! In the end, it’s good, regular content that will draw people back.

Thanks again lettergrade :-)
Hopefully ive got it right now ?
I copied and pasted http://pureandflawlesspix.wordpress.com/ into Google and all that comes up is the post im putting on here ? !

Your site is brand new, and search engines can take 4-6 weeks to index content. You’ll need to wait! While you’re waiting, read up on wordpress.com and search engines. ;)

Thanks so much lettergrade, your help has been amazing! I think I’ve done it! I’ve got a blog page up with all my posts. When I add more posts, will they automatically show up there or do I have to add them? I deleted the other pages as it was just confusing me and added one new one called Therapies. I’m just wondering how do I add the posts that relate just to that topic to that particular page?
Caitsith73 thanks for liking my about page, my first official like, I feel so proud! =)

Yes, thank you lettergrade :-)
Thank you strangeandbeautifuldoorway, Ha! And thank you for mine ! My first too ! Im now following you on my blog. Your very welcome hun. You should feel proud :-) Well done x -

Congrats, both of you!
@strangeandbeautifuldoorway, I think what you are looking for is a Category stream of posts.
1. Remove the ‘Therapies’ page you’ve placed in your menu.
2. Create a category called ‘Therapies,’ and apply that category to any posts you want.
3. Add a Category menu item to your menu. Here are the instructions for that: Adding Category Pages
4. Save the menu and check your site. All posts in the category ‘Therapies’ should show up under your new category menu item. -
