My posts are not appearing to readers. I’ve also been editing for hours now, but no changes has been observed. Please help @emmanuelumukoro.wordpress.com

Hello. I have made a post on wordpress, but when I changed the theme of the blog, posts has been deleted.

@thehomemakerslife
Your last few posts are all showing for me in the Reader:
https://wordpress.com/read/blogs/107904518
If you don’t see the last two there, can you please try clearing your browser cache? Also try unfollowing your site in the Reader and then follow it again.
-
Thank for your reply. I have just cleared the cash, unfollowed and followed as well as logged out and logged back in. I’ve gone as far as 20h ago on the reader and it hasn’t shown up..
-
Can you check now please? If, when loading the Reader you don’t see it, try pressing Cmd-R and look again.

No need to apologise. This is a recurring problem with Jetpack, and while we’re working to fix it for good I’m happy to help in the meantime if it needs a reset on our end.
-
I will try what you suggested about clearing the cache/logging out and in next time. Yes, in that case, you might hear from me again! Either way many thanks.
-
Hi kokkieh, I’m afraid I will need your help in resetting again (last 3 posts didn’t show up in reader). Thank you in advance!
-
I’ve asked the developer who helped me before to look into this again. I can again fix it manually, but it doesn’t seem right that it’s happening so frequently, so I’d like to make sure there isn’t some underlying issue here. We’ll have your site’s feed up and running again as soon as we can.
-
Thank you, I figured.. it seems to be happening almost every time a new post goes up.. really I think it started happening when transferring to a self-hosted domain.

We’re not able to help with Jetpack sites in that way, no, as we don’t have any access to your dashboard or to your site’s files on the server.
Regarding the Reader issue, a developer has let me know that he’s found an error in the feed. They’re looking into if it’s something we can fix on our side. I’ll keep you posted.

Hi there,
Our developers think the may have uncovered part of the problem. It appears there is an invalid character in both your site description and in one of your posts that might be preventing us from fetching the feed correctly.
Edit your site description and position your cursor after the first F in the “For” of the description. Press the left-arrow on your keyboard once so the cursor is to the left of the F, and press backspace several times, until it’s not moving back any more.
There also appears to be one in your post, Chocolaterie Vieux-Rosemont, in the phrase, Montreal is undoubtedly. Delete the space between Montreal and is and then press Spacebar again to add it back.
They’re still investigating, but please let me know if you notice any change after making these two edits.
-
Correction, please let me know once you’ve made the changes. Then we’ll update your site’s feed and see if this happens again.
-
Hi kokkieh, thank you for the input. I’ve just noticed that there are several posts that show up completely blank when going into edit mode.. ”about me” and ”chocolaterie vieux-rosemont” being two of them. I don’t know if this is a moment’s glitch but this is the first time I’ve noticed this. Could this be an indication that all posts showing up blank have errors in them? Does editing a posting after posting it have an effect on ”fetching the feed”?
I was also just curious about your opinion about whether a firewall would help to prevent such issues. Thank you!
-
Do you mean if you go to My Site ->Posts here on WordPress.com? I’d try clearing the browser cache and cookies first and see if that doesn’t resolve it. It’s unlikely to be related to the Reader issue.
A firewall is something installed on your computer that prevents unauthorised networks connections coming in from outside your computer. It won’t make any difference to the connection between your site an WordPress.com. You do need security on your site, but the Jetpack plugin already provides that, and you can get more robust security if you want via one of our Jetpack plans. But this issue is unlikely to be caused by something security-related.

Yes, through there! The bottom of the post even says ”word count: 0”. I cleared cache and cookies, several posts show up like that. However, some other posts such as my latest one look fine. Very strange!
