my posts are not showing up in topics
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Could you check this list of the most common reasons why posts aren’t in the topic reader: http://en.support.wordpress.com/topics/#missing-posts
-
of course…………..without a crystal ball what good is a list
of possibilities, I could be guilty of one, two, or none of them.
also, how does one correct the situation ?
you get a little button that says support/help that
goes nowhere.
this message isn’t meant to be negative towards you.
it sounds negative……….just frustrated. -
I’m sorry, I forgot to include that I’ve tagged this thread for Staff assistance, since I can’t see any reason why your posts aren’t in the reader. You haven’t been using more than 15 tags and categories (in total per post), you aren’t labelled as mature, since there are links in the forum, your blog isn’t new, I believe it’s set in English, it’s clearly not private, and it doesn’t appear to be that you are using incorrect tags.

The same is happening with my posts:
http://almofate.wordpress.comI used to assign too many tags+categories, mostly because my blog is bilingual (with bilingual tags and categories) but I’ve been keeping them strictly to a maximum of 15 since January. And some time ago I also went through all my older posts, so that now all of them have up to 15 tags+categories.
Help, please! -
I had too many tags on published posts. I removed many of them to ensure that there are 15 or less. Will WordPress pick this up so that they will be added to the reader or should I republish them.

Do not ever repuplish a post for this reason. Be aware that it’s Google, Bing and other search engines that send the most significant traffic to blogs and doing that a very bad move. Read why here. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/08/05/avoid-creating-404-pages/

I wasn’t aware that deleting tags and categories from published posts could end up creating 404 pages, thank you for the alert!

You’re welcome. I have been concerned to see that bloggers just don’t seem to get the point that it’s Google and Bing and other search engines that send the lion’s share of traffic flow to blogs. By focusing on the topics pages here bloggers are not seeing the big picture. They are focusing on a grove of saplings rather than on the forest of mature tress, so to speak. But not to worry because Staff will assist when they work their way forward through threads with earlier dates to this thread.

@almofates
As you sound interested in improving your Tagging and Category assignment know that neither Categories or Tags are required for SEO purposes. The rule of thumb is to assign the least, not the most, combined number of only relevant categories and tags that accurately describe the post content. Thanks again, that’s most helpful!
I’ve been reading so much lately about SEO and tags and categories… Going through old posts and re-examining their tagging was quite helpful in the way that made me concentrate on what exactly was I blogging about, but what really bothers me is that I’m having about 10% of the traffic I used to have and don’t understand why!
Many thanks for your time and support. -
multiplemichael – I will reply to you by email so this can be discussed in private.
dorothyadele – please don’t republish any posts.
almofates and any others – if you still need help, could you please each start a new thread to describe your issue in detail, and add the tag modlook in the Tags area and a Staff member will help you out. Thanks.
