Posts not showing up under Pages

I’m extremely new to blogging so this question might not make sense. I’m using the Snaps theme for my blog. How I want my blog is a static homepage for the top half with squares to posts on the bottom half of the homepage. I want a menu on separating the top and bottom homepage. On the menu I want the pages. When you click a page, you will find all the blog posts written under that category. I’ve created a post about gardening that I categorized as “the garden” but it doesn’t shoe up under the “the garden” page tab in my menu. What am I doing wrong? How do I post something to have it appear under a category in the menu?
Again, I’m sorry for my newbie question. I’ve tried to find videos and watched several but can’t find the answer.

Pages are a form of content, like posts, and as such cannot contain posts.
Instead, add your categories to the menu, as they all have their own archive pages, like https://labellapodere.home.blog/category/the-garden-shed/
