Post's not viewing as a summary

  I have repeatedly tried to change my blog feed so that each post is displayed as a summary and not in full. I have gone into the reading settings and changed the option of full text to summary – ‘For each article in a feed, show: full text/summary’ – but it always remains showing full text.
  I have tried to make the change, logged out and logged back in to see if the change was made, but it didn’t work and remained the same. It is very frustrating and I don’t understand why. Please please help if you know why my blog is doing this. Is it something else in my settings that are wrong maybe? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  “For each article in a feed, show: full text/summary” refers to the RSS feed. Changing the setting there will not affect how the posts display publicly on your blog.

  Some themes do this automatically, and some might allow you the option of displaying full or excerpt versions of the post.

  I often use a more tag to abbreviate posts as displayed on the front page and older pages.
