  I would like to publish on the homepage only posts in in a specific category
  It seems that this is not possible on wp.com.
  So I thought to do a redirect to a page relating to a category, but how to redirect to a page in the same blog?

  If you would like specific posts on the front page of the site, set it to be a static front page and use Sticky Posts to stick the posts of your choice to the front page.

  Currently, I don’t believe a free Theme offers the ability to set a category for the front of your site. This is the easiest work around.

  You may do this with Plugins on the self-hosted version of WordPress.

  Please note that email replies are not done here on the forum. The bot removes all emails for your security.

  @lorelle: Stickies show on top of other posts. You cannot display sticky posts on a regular static page.

  @mariavirgilio: No, not possible. What you can do is set the blog front to display a static intro page, and create a custom menu that includes links to your categories. For details on custom menus see this post of mine:
