posts on front page
-
Hello!
I am very very new at this and would like some assistance.
I would like a website where my posts show on the main/home page. As of now I have to press ‘blog’ to reach my posts. I would also like my posts on the front page/home to show one picture each. Then when I click on the post I will get to more pictures. Can someone suggest a theme that would support this. If I have not been clear I kind of would like something along these lines:

Hi there, do you still need help with this issue?
You can find all the support documentation for WordPressdotcom at https://en.support.wordpress.com/ and suggestions for finding self-help solutions at https://dailypost.wordpress.com/2016/01/14/help-with-wordpress-com/ and https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/

https://dailypost.wordpress.com/blogging-university/blogging-fundamentals/Concerning your question, by default blog posts appear on the front page of your site. The Origin theme on your site https://wordpress.com/theme/origin looks like it currently has a static front page set up as the front page. You can change this setting in the Customizer so that your latest blog posts are on your site’s front page instead: https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/
Perhaps you would prefer to look for a different theme for a photography site: https://wordpress.com/themes/free/filter/photography

Thank you!
I am unsure if I could figure out to utilize your advice.
When I add a blog post every picture in the post appears on the page.
What I want is for 1 single picture to appear on the front page. And then when I click the post I get to all the other pictures.
Does that make sense? -
Hi there, yes it does.
I see that you have switched to using the Snaps theme on your above site. Snaps has a special front page template that does that, but it uses portfolio projects to populate it and not blog posts. You can find more set up information about using Snaps and Portfolios here:
https://wordpress.com/theme/snaps
https://en.support.wordpress.com/portfolios/The disadvantage of using only the Portfolio is that it doesn’t ping readers to new content. Only the blog page does that.
If you’d rather continue publishing blog posts on your site’s front page, you could use the More tag beneath the first photo, which will truncate the post and then visitors will need to click through to see the full post. https://en.support.wordpress.com/more-tag/
Another option if you have a lot of images in each post is to use the Gallery feature to display them: https://en.support.wordpress.com/gallery/
Let me know if you have other questions about this.
