Posts page not showing, Stay theme
-
Hi. I am using the stay theme, and I have a static front page. The problem is – the posts page is not showing. I have done everything right according to the manual, but it still doesn’t show. My blog is https://husoleiligheter.wordpress.com. Could someone please help me find out what the problem is?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Did you create a Page for posts to display on before you created a static front page?
By default the front page of your blog displays all published posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. That is for the convenience of your returning visitors, who come to read your latest post, and who are not likely to be happy with being compelled to click through the same static page with the same blah, blah, blah on it every time they visit the blog looking for the latest post.
However, if you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, and know that static front pages are traffic killers, then you can create a static front page called for example “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts. To do that create two pages first http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/
After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.

I have already done all those things, and done everything I’m supposed to according to the wordpress support, to make a static page with front page and posts page. What I’m asking is what the problem to posts page not displaying might be. I don’t have any posts, only pages.

this is the url of my page for posts page: http://husoleiligheter.wordpress.com/velkommen-til-visning-av-ferileiligheter-pa-eventyrgarden-huso-i-hemsedal-2/
what is strange, is that no page is found here, even though the page is published.
-
The 2 at the end of the URL is an indication that the first Page is in your Trash. See Restoring from Trash http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/#restoring-from-trash
-
By default the front page of the blog is the only page that will display all published posts on it. As soon as you publish a post not a page the error message will be gone. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
-
So that means that I have to make a post, not a page, for it to show on my home page? The problem with that is that when I set the posts page, I am only able to choose from pages, not posts.
-
-
When you change the posts page to another one form the front page the same thing still prevails: it will display only posts after they are published. Are you clear on that? Until you actually publish posts there is nothing that the posts page can display because it has no data.
-
I would also suggest that you read the detailed theme description page very closely http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/stay/ To set up Stay’s home page template.
-
The post is published. Here is the new URL: http://husoleiligheter.wordpress.com/velkommen-til-visning-av-ferileiligheter-pa-eventyrgarden-huso-i-hemsedal/
So the page shows here, but not on the actual home page.

I have another problem too, maybe you have the answer, timethief?
I have now made the page that didn’t show as a post page, as a widget instead https://husoleiligheter.wordpress.com/ .
But the widget gets cut off when I’m viewing the page on the iPad. maybe the widget is not responsive? what to do about this? any css code that might solve this problem? -
I’m currently unable to see your site at all.
It looks like your domain is not pointing to WordPress.com name servers yet:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-helper/?host=husoleiligheter.no
Please go to your domain registrar’s site and log into the control panel. You will need to update the name servers as below:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMFor more information, please visit the help documentation provided by the registrar and our support page:

Hi rootjosh! Thank you for helping, I’m having some trouble with my domain. And after reading the support page, I’m still having trouble understanding what to do. I have created a site with wordpress, and bought the domain name from domeneshop.no. But I can’t figure out what the problem is, or what I’m going to do. Any ideas?
