Posts Pages

Hi, I’m struggling with my posts. It shows that I have 3 pages, 2 which are publishes and another 1 which I can’t edit and it has an ‘i’ on the left hand side and when I hover over it, it says ‘the content of your latest posts page is automatically generated and cannot be edited’. How can I change this? I have been so confused and I can’t delete it. Also when I go into appearance and want to change something it changes the wrong page? Pls help!

  • Hello there,

It looks like the Blog page, is set to be the posts page. This means, that instead of adding content to this page, all posts that are published will appear here instead. ( https://natalielifestyleblogs.wordpress.com/blogs/ )

This can be changed via Appearance > Customize > Homepage Settings.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your suggestion.
I have tried what you’ve suggested, and when I change the ‘posts page’ in the homepage settings, it doesn’t make any of the changes and the blog page that comes up is different to the one I created, it doesn’t have the theme, it just has the most recent blog posts. Why is this?

Your site shows fine to me. I can see 3 posts on your frontpage: Fashion Trends 2021 26th August 2021, Cleaning Makeup Brushes 17th August 2021 and Solid Abs Workout 14th August 2021.
Did you already clear your browser cache?

  • If it helps, this is the blogs page:
    https://natalielifestyleblogs.wordpress.com/blogs/

That will show all of the posts, newest posts first.

You also have a front page. You can add all sorts of things to that page if you’d like, but one feature it has right now is a block that shows your three latest posts. So those three posts show up there, too.

Basically there are bunch of ways to display your latest articles, including the “posts page” that displays all of them.

    As a side note:
I did notice you have a menu that’s set up to display category links, but the menu location you’ve picked is designed to show social icons instead. So all of those links just look like Ws. Can I recommend trying something else?

Go to My Site > Customize, and click on Menus

Click on “Blogs” (that’s what you’ve named the menu)

Under Menu Location, try checking Primary instead of Secondary.

You’ll notice the menu links show up at the top as words. I’m guessing that’d be easier for your site readers, so if you like that, go ahead and save your changes. Then you can create another menu for social links, if you want that.
