Hi there,
Have you already published the page where you added that block? If so, please share a link so we can check.
In general though, if you’re already subscribed, you will not see the field to input your email address and subscribe again. -
Hi,
Yes, published the page, logged out and in again. Didn’t help

Hi Jacob,
It looks like there has been manual change to that block’s HTML after it was added, which causes the block to break.
Edit the page and click on the subscription form block. Then click the … icon in the block toolbar, followed by the option that says “Attempt block recovery”:
That will fix the block. Then click Update to save the changes.

Hi,
As suggested, I deleted the block and recreated a new one
However, I have the same problem: What I see in the Edit mode disappears in the Preview and the Site view
Please give me a step by step procedure to make it right

Would you please publish the block to a post or page so we can see the problem in action and work backwards from there?
-
-
Oh whoops, sorry!
Yeah, the block is being modified in a way that invalidates it.
Would you please list out what you want the form to include, and we’ll see if we can create it as desired?
-
Sure
I want it to be as it originally was. That is,
– A box for a reader’s email address, and
– Underneath it, the Subscribe buttonOn the right side, I will add the caption (in Hebrew): Receive posts to your inbox
Thanks,
Jacob -
Would you please type out that caption here so we can just copy/paste it when we try to re-create your form as desired? :)

I’ve fixed the block for you by following the steps I gave in my reply above, and it looks fine now on your site.
You’ll notice it shows only a button, not an email field, because you are logged into a WordPress.com account already, so subscribing using this form will automatically subscribe the email address for your WordPress.com account. Any logged-in WordPress.com user will only see a button.
Logged-out visitors to your site will see a form to input their email address instead.

Hi kokkieh,
I logged out and in again
Whatever steps you followed, the block is not fixed. I took a screenshot of how it looks now in Edit mode and the Preview has not changed from last time; that is, you see neither the email box or the button
Please look at my Media section to see what I mean

It’s working properly as far as I can see.
Here is what I see when logged in to WordPress.com: https://d.pr/i/RfnnS1
This is correct, and its what my colleague is referring to. If you are logged in to WordPress.com, the email field won’t appear, because the email address in your WordPress.com account will be used.
In order for us to see what is being returned when logged out of WordPress.com, we’ll need you to make the site public: https://wordpress.com/support/settings/privacy-settings/

Hi Macmanx,
Firstly, I made the site public
Secondly, how come you and I see different things?
Thirdly, the email field (+ button) appeared before when I was logged in (see screenshot in my Media section)
Lastly, even after launching the site, I still don’t see the email field or the button
Thanks,
Jacob -
Ok, this is what I see when logged out, also good: https://d.pr/i/mjef8X
I don’t know why we’re seeing different things. I’m looking at https://simplebutnoteasy70549312.wordpress.com/ is that the site you’re looking at too?
If so, first please make sure that your browser is up to date: https://browsehappy.com/
If it is not, please try updating your browser or switching to a different browser.
If it is, please do these two things:
1. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies.
2. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.
Please let us know how each step goes for you, and which browser (and version of) you’re using if you’re still having trouble.

Hi Macmanx,
The problem was cache and cookies. As soon as I cleared the browser, I started to see what you guys see
Later on, I will arrange it more aesthetically, but for now problem solved
Thanks a lot,
Jacob
