Posts to Facebook are duplicated!

I disconnected and reconnected Publicise this week to correct an issue with the FB page likes. My first Publicize connection was marked “shared”, now it seems to be connected directly to my FB page, however I now get duplicated posts – one from my page name and one from WordPress.

Strangely, FB is selecting the last image found and adding it to my tweets too! This has only started since re-creating the Publicize connection.

Has anyone experienced this, and what settings (WP or FB) do I need to change to get back to one post only (and from WP)?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

OK, I can see the first post is from Motoringweekly.com.au and the second duplicated post is from wp.com. Any suggestions as to why?

I still can’t fathom the tweets picking up the last FB image used though, I cannot see any settings at all for that in FB!

I’ve had a walk, got bread and milk and figured out my problem!

I had to reconnect FB because it was not picking up the correct number of page likes. Now I think about it, it was quite possible that the Publicize connection wasn’t working and I didn’t know because I saw the posts in FB – which were coming from Twitter! Hence the “new” duplication.

Re the images on tweets coming into FB, the last set of auto tweets had no image in them so FB is picking up the last image it sees, which is from the most recent post, so I need to attach an image in future to stop that.

I can probably live with the duplicated post in FB as I want to use Twitter to broadcast that a new post has been written.
