Folks – New here to wordpress. How do I enter posts to specific pages versus them posting to the main page? Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please give us a link to your blog, starting with http, so we can make sure our answers are appropriate to you.

Posts only appear on the main page, and the pages that are create on the fly by the wordpress software such as archives, categories and tags.
The easiest way to separate posts into sections is to do it with categories and use the categories widget in the sidebar. People then click on the titles of the categories in the widget to get to a page showing just the posts that belong to that category. If you don’t want the main post page to show by default, you can use a static front page with links to the different categories within the body of that page. Do be aware though that having a static front page will adversely effect search engine ranking.

Sorry one last question: Can I set the categories to display on the page even though there are no posts as of yet?

Category names will not show up in the categories widget until they have been assigned to at least one post, but if you are talking about a static page, then you can use the general permalink structure to create the links ahead of time.

Yes, you can have a category widget in your sidebar without any posts. Note however that categories will not show until you have at least one post assigned in the category. -
