posts turning up as pages

  So, for the last few days every time I have tried to make a blog post, it will post as a page, instead. Eventually I will be able to get it back to a post by switching to the old posting format then back to new, but it’s getting annoying, especially since I’ve been scheduling the week’s posts in advance.

  I have no idea what’s going wrong. When I create the post, it just says I’m creating a post, not a page. But when I actually go to post it, it becomes a page.

  I’m seriously behind on my posts for the week because of this problem.

  Hi there!

  Thank you for your thorough explanation of the problem. That does sound weird! I’m not sure this will be a much help but here are some things to try and additional information that might be helpful for us to know.

  Things to try:
  1. Have you tried playing around with some test posts in both the classic and the new “beep beep boop” view? Is it happening when you create posts in both or just one or the other?
  2. Have you tried posting different kinds of formats from the classic view (just to see if that has the same problem)?
  3. Could you provide a link to a page that was a post turned to a page?

  Hi there,

  I’m sorry for the trouble you’re having with that! We’re trying to track down what’s causing this problem but we’ve had trouble reproducing the problem consistently.

  Have you also recently edited or created new pages? Or do you only work on blog posts? Any other details about the exact steps you use when you’re creating those posts may help us figure out and resolve what’s going on here.

  I haven’t edited or created a new page in at least two months. I’ve only been working on blog posts.

  It only happens when I schedule a blog post in advance. Yesterday I wrote a post and it showed up as a regular blog post, but when I tried to schedule it, it showed up as a page.

  Wow, that’s really strange! Do you click the pencil icon in the top right at https://wordpress.com/ to start the new post, or do you start from somewhere else?
