I have not been able to add new posts for about 6 days now. When I click on publish all I get is this little round thing going round and round and round. Yesterday I just left and went to town, 65 miles away, gone for 4 hours and came back and it’s still just going round and round and round. This morning it was the same thing. Why am I just going round in circles. I’ve searched for an answer to this problem and all I’ve gotten there so far is a question and “Topic Closed”

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That’s awful and I would be off-the-wall if I had waited a week without getting Staff support. Please provide some information so they can work on this with you and get you up and running.

    (1) How you are connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com?
The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers. Also note that the main dashboard isn’t designed to work with touch devices through the tablet and smartphone browsers.

    (2) Are you using the secure https:// login?
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

    (3) Exactly which browser and version of it are you using. If you aren’t sure click here to find out > http://whatsmyuseragent.com/

Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html

Have you done any troubleshooting? Below are the troubleshooting steps we take whenever any issues like this arise and undertaking them will provide valuable feedback information for Staff:

    a. clearing your browser cache and cookies > http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

    b. Using the browser with all extensions or add-ons disabled

    c. updating the browser to the latest stable version (not a buggy BETA browser version) http://browsehappy.com/

I tried to publish a post before I left for the fair today. All I got was the little roundie round thing. I just left. When I got back 5 hours later, still just the run around. I’m on Hughes satellite. I’m using Firefox 15.0.1 I have tried troubleshooting. I have cleared my cache. I don’t know what is meant by having all extensions or add-ons disabled. I’m going to finish up my work with fair this weekend and then Monday I’ll try again. If I can’t get it done then, I know there must be an easier way and I’ll find it. I’ve built three web pages that all work very well with the system I’m using. So I suppose this is just too far above my pay grade. Anyhow, thanks for your help.

  • Hughes has a feature called “Turbo Page” which retrieves a cached page when enabled, saves them bandwidth, and causes some problems here due to a misconfiguration on their end.

I recommend calling the Hughes support center and asking to have the Turbo Page feature disabled on your account. That should solve the problem.

Well, if that’s what I need to do I suppose I’ll just pass and try something else. There are much easier ways to do this and I just don’t have the time nor the inclination to mess with this BS anymore.

    Thanks anyhow.
