Posts won't save or publish

I’ve never had this problem before. The last couple of days I haven’t been able to save a complete draft of my post, or publish it.
When I try to save a draft, it only saves the text without the images. There are two images I want to add, both are 10″ x 7.5″, and 72dpi. I’ve never had trouble with this size image before.
When I try to save a draft, it goes to a blank page and nothing further happens.
When I try to publish it, it goes to the same looking blank white page, and nothing happens.When I click ‘back’ it goes back to my attempted post with images and text.
When I go back to the posts menu, I can see my draft has been saved, but without the images.Any ideas? Support forms appear to be unavailable at the moment, or I’d send them a query.

ps: i’ve tried logging out, logging back in, deleting post and starting again. still have the same problem.

Would you mind trying in Google Chrome? http://www.google.com/chrome
If it doesn’t work in Chrome, please try opening an Incognito window from Chrome’s File menu. This will run the browser without cookies, cache, or add-ons, providing the “cleanest” browsing experience possible.

sure, I’ll try it in chrome. I’ve generally used mozilla without any problems, but I’m happy to try anything that will work.

This is the error I get in Chrome when I try to save draft or publish:No data received
Unable to load the web page because teh server sent no data.
Here are soe suggestions:
Reload this web page later.
Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data. -
