Posts wouldn’t publish, now won’t save

I’m new to wordpress and moving some content over from two other blogs. Two previous posts showed up fine (on posted to present, one to past). Originally I had an issue with a post that would only save as a draft when I hit publish. Upon browsing through the forums I figured when trying to post to the past I may have accidently posted to the future, and no matter how many times I tried to change the timestamp the post would not publish.
I did try a test post in current time and it showed up.
I decided it may have been a backend issue with originally posting to the future so I deleted and copied & pasted the the post, making sure to set the timestamp to the past. Now when I hit save or publish the page seems to “refresh” and all of my content is gone, no posts are published or saved to drafts.
Am I making some obvious mistake here? I tried a test post AGAIN, which also worked, but when I copy and paste the text for the real post in from word, it doesn’t work. Even if I don’t change the timestamp.
(I have also tried to use notepad 2 http://www.flos-freeware.ch/ in case the Microsoft products were messing it up on the C&P.)
I copied and pasted the first post that published directly from word with no problems and I really don’t want to have to retype 2 years worth of posts, re-posting is bad enough. Does anyone have any advice about what I may be doing wrong here?

Actually, there is currently an issue and apparently many of us cannot post to our sites right now. Waiting for word from support.

It’s weird because I can post. I did a test post, tried messing with all the settings, even copying and pasting one word in from Word. All works fine.

Let me clarify, all works fine except copying and pasting these large chunks of text. Also tried a test page with 5-6 sentences, which works fine. Tried to copy and paste a different post in… didn’t work at all.
I am using a 2007 version of Word, but even so, wouldn’t pasting into Notepad 2 get rid of anything other than plain text?

Yes, I am having a bit of that problem. I cant have one of my “posts”(I wrote it on the Write page when you click the Write tab.)on my blogs. I want it to show, but when I look at it, it says unpublished. How can I publish it? If I find out before now, I’ll say so. If not, HELP!

Ok. No, it’s okay. I got it published. I’ll remember where the button is to publish a “post”(Is that what you call it when you’re doing it at the “Write” page?)
