  I am looking to have the ability to manage the users and users data. I assume that every user who wishes to comment, must create a WordPress account? What type of demographic information is the owner of the blog able to collect?

  Hi there,

  Depending on a blog’s settings, visitors may or may not need a WordPress.com account to comment on the blog. That’s up to the blog owner, and you can read more about those options here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/who-can-comment/

  When someone comments on a blog, the blog owner can see any information entered in the comment form (such as name, email address, URL, comment text) and the IP address of the commenter.
