potential issues mapping an existing domain from fasthosts.co.uk

I have searched across various WordPress forums (-fora ?) for this, but can only find multiple references to the admittedly-useful mapping-an-existing-domain.

However, checking Fasthosts support site, it seems to expect that some config. also needs to be done via their own portal, particularly the entry of an IPSTAG, which many WordPress corresponds insist isn’t required, and in any case cannot be given.

The issue is more pressing because of the imminent end of the hosting package for the current DNS, but I have been given conflicting advice on this: Fasthosts support has said that the end of the hosting will not in any way disable mapping access to the current DNS (-I would expect and hope that they are correct), but I have read on more than one hosting blog, developer forum, etc that WordPress users have had difficulty seeing their newly-mapped site on the existing DNS.

This is, in many ways, more of a ‘Fasthosts’ issue than it is a WordPress situation, but I am hoping that somebody has done this successfully, particularly in respect of this matter of an IPSTAG that WordPress claim not to issue. Thanks !

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
