    Hi, I am unable to add a powerpoint presentation to a blog post. The filetype is ppsx. I get an error message saying 1 file could not be uploaded becuase an error occurred while uploading.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there, according to this support guide https://en.support.wordpress.com/accepted-filetypes/ .ppsx files are supported here on WordPressdotcom.

    Is issg.wordpress.com the site you need help with or a different site? If a WordPressdotcom site, are you uploading it directly to the Media Library or through the Add Media button on a post or page? If the latter, are you using the Classic Editor or the new block editor?

    Thanks, yes it is issg.wordpress.com. I have tried both methods – uploading to the Media Library and the Add Media button (using the classic editor).

    Another thing you could try is using screen capture to record your Powerpoint on video as it plays. You could then either upload the video to your WordPress media or upload it to a Youtube account and put the link on your blog page.
    Just a suggestion for a work around.

    Hi cebch,

    There is plenty of space in your Media Library and I can see you’ve been able to successfully upload PowerPoint files (.ppt and .pptx) in the past. How large is the .ppsx file you are trying to upload? We recommend using files up to 1GB in size.

    If you export the same presentation to another format like .ppt or .pptx, are you able to upload it without any issue?

    If the same problems occurs, it would be great if you could confirm whether using a different browser or internet connection (home, work etc) makes a difference.
