Predefined settings for new posts
-
I would like to suggest the following feature: Predefined settings for new posts. For example I would like to be able to define a standard setting for how my images are aligned when I add them to my post. Now I have to click on every image to align them as I want and I align all pictures in all my post the same way. So this would save me a lot of work.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

How about the possibility to edit image settings (like right, left and middle alignment) in the media window? (right before you insert the images in to the post). I find it very handy to be able to add captions there, so it would be even more handy if you could edit other settings (like alignment), before you insert them.
Or in the post, make it possible to select/highlight the images and use the text alignment buttons… -

Hello all,
@timethief, this post is already in the Ideas forum.
@wilsonvolleyball (that’s a fun screen name, by the way!) posted this again with the idea more developed. I marked it as duplicate, only since this is already in Ideas (find it at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/a-possibility-to-edit-the-alignment-for-all-images?replies=1).

Or in the post, make it possible to select/highlight the images and use the text alignment buttons…
I found that I was able to highlight and use the alignment buttons on multiple images in a post or page editor, but the process is not very smooth. The images jump up and down quite a bit, and sometimes it’s difficult to get more than one image highlighted. It works somewhat more smoothly in the WP Admin editors. In either case, My Sites or WP Admin editors, you may use either the alignment buttons that appear when you highlight the images or the buttons in the post/page editor toolbar.
From your other related topic:
One solution would be in the media window, right before you insert the images in to the post. I find it very handy to be able to add captions there, so it would be even more handy if you could edit other settings, like the alignment.
Presently, alignment settings are available in WP Admin post or page editors before inserting an image. After clicking the Add Media button in the editor toolbar, AND either selecting an image from the media library or uploading an image, you’ll find various settings at the right of the Insert Media module. Alignment settings will be found at Insert Media > Attachment Display Settings > Alignment. As you’ve indicated, the same convenience is not presently available in the My Sites (aka Calypso) post and page editors.

Thank you for this research, @musicdoc1. I had gotten as far as the My Sites editor not doing that well.
@wilsonvolleyball, to access WP Admin if you don’t see it (it gets hidden by default on new accounts), load https://wilsonblogg.com/wp-admin
We have overview documentation to get users up to speed on the old Dashboard: https://en.support.wordpress.com/dashboard/
Best,

@musicdoc1 & jessestu
Thanks for the tip. Tried using WP admin and that solved the problem. I just hope these features are added to Calypso soon.
Have not been able to test or reply before now. I’m out on a 15 month long expedition, crossing the length and width of Norway. So it’s far between each time I have internett access :-)

Wow! I hope your expedition is incredible for you!
I’m glad WP Admin does what you want, at least for now. Thank you for checking back in.

Living the dream. 15 months of doing whatever one loves doing.
Anyways, thanks for the help :)
