  Hi! I’m thinking about changing my plan to Premium and I was wondering, after the first year will it be extended automatically for the next year (so 99$ will be charged from my credit card again) or will I be able to control it and to come back to a free plan if I want to?

  Hi there,

  All upgrades except Premium Themes on WordPress.com are subscription-based, meaning they renew annually. Automatic renewal is turned on by default on all upgrades, but you can turn it off via the Purchases page once your domain is past the renewal period, or you can ask us to turn it off for you.

  If you leave automatic renewal active, we’ll attempt to renew your plan a month before it expires.

  You can cancel your plan and revert to the free plan at any time you want to, but we only offer a refund on a plan for 30 days after purchase or renewal.

  Thank you very much for the answer! I just have one more doubt, if a change my plot to premium and get the new domain, will I keep my followers? Thanks in advance!

  Yes, nothing will change in terms of your site itself. You will have some extra options in your dashboard, but your content will remain just as it is and your followers won’t even know you’ve upgraded unless you mention it or they realise they don’t see ads on your site any more.

  If you get a custom domain the free address will also still exist and work, but it will just be hidden.
