Premium account Cloudflare integration
-
Hello,
I just purchased a domain from Automattic to pair with the Premium Plan and then add Cloudflare integration with my Cloudflare Pro CDN account.
Before I go any further, are there any problems with my plan?
I noticed in some Cloudflare how to documents they mention WordPress.com quite often. Will this be a problem using the .blog URL I just purchased?
If it is I guess I can wait 3 months and transfer it to Cloudflare but I’d miss the opportunity to publish a WordPress.com hosted site.
Thanks for your time.

There is need to use Cloudflare. WordPress.com has it own CDN – https://wordpress.com/support/site-speed/

Hi there,
You can use a Cloudflare DNS if you wish, and connections should work fine with your Pro account. More info here: https://wordpress.com/support/cloudflare-cdn/
Please note that to use Cloudflare Pro will require an upgrade to our Business Plan: Cloudflare’s paid upgrade plans or the Automatic Platform Optimization (APO) add-on feature require a plugin to work properly, and it is not possible to add plugins on sites without a Business Plan or higher:
The Business Plan would also allow you to upload any plugin or theme “designed for WordPress” as well as the full performance benefits of our managed hosting.
However, as @staartmees has mentioned above, we do have a very performant CDN built in to our service, and even free sites enjoy this performance boost by managing your site and DNS with us directly.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
