PREMIUM CANCELLATION REFUND

  • Unknown's avatar

Today I purchased the premium upgrade for $99.00 and canceled it on the same day but I only received a partial refund for $73.00. The email that I received said I wouldn’t receive the $26.00 for my domain. I purchased my domain separately over a month ago which I pay $26.00 a year to keep. My question is why wouldn’t I receive my entire $99.00 refund when I am paying for the domain separately?

    Hi doublescoop2,

I’ve tagged this topic for a Staff follow-up. They’ll be able to take a look at your account. Please be patient while waiting!

  • Hey doublescoop2!

I’ve taken a look at your account. You’re right that you should have received a full refund, rather than just a partial one. It looks like things have gotten confused, so I’ve sorted it out – refunding the remaining $26.

Please be aware that it can take up to 7 days for the transaction to show up on your statement, though it usually happens much quicker than that!

Let me know if you have any other questions!

I purchased a premium theme and also an upgrade and cancelled the same day when I realized I needed to confer with someone else about which one to get. I got an email saying, basically, are you sure you want to cancel? Yeah, I know you hope people won’t see the email and you won’t have to refund, but I did. Did I get my refund? No.
You make us jump through hoops, requiring me to go to ANOTHER link to that asks me if I want to cancel and I MUST do this before I get my refund…and the links you sent me doesn’t work. What a crock you crooks. I’m two inches away from pulling all my stuff off your site, writing an article (I’m a journalist) and never using you again. Happiness engineers? Really? Please give me MY money back.

    @therracat
Which premium theme did you purchase?
Which blog URL did you purchase it for?
    When did you purchase it?

Refunds are time limited. WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers.

Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.

    See here:
Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades

Dashboard > Store > Billing History

Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrade, and you are within the allowed time frame for refunds, you can cancel and request a refund from your dashboard > Store > My Upgrades. You can also disable auto-renew there. http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#canceling-upgrades

I have tried to contact WordPress to resolve a most important issue: I discovered earlier today that WordPress has charged me £70.000 for a Premium service upgrade, at the end of my free trial. However, I expressly cancelled my upgrade, having followed your instructions and having received an email confirmation of this. Indeed, despite my bank confirming that WordPress has, without my permission, taken this money from my bank, I can now see I have not been upgraded either! It has caused both embarrassment and inconvenience and I want my money back, forthwith.
Finally, I would add that your lack of real-time telephone or live chat assistance to speedily and conveniently resolve legal matters like this is a disgrace. After this experience I will certainly have to think long and hard about joining WordPress.
