-
Hello wordpress, I am considering upgrading to the Perosnal Plan from the Free Plan and would like to specifically what choices I have in this plan for utilising a payment wall to obtai suscriptions for premium content…. I would prefer a drop down curtain that fades in after 15 seconds etc with a subscirpition request. Please advise…Many thanks !

Hi @econradco! We don’t have that specific special effect by default, but we do have a premium content block that comes with all paid plans. It works like this:
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/premium-content-block/If you have a plugin in mind, or if you wanted to hire a developer to create one for you that does the drop down curtain thing, you could implement it with a Business Plan since that supports plugins and outside code. And you can find all of our pricing here:

Thanks for that very helpful reply supernovia!
However, I am still trying to understand more cleary what the site visitor’s ‘view and experience’ wwill be… The existing site already has hundreds of readers that spend 20 -40 minutes on the site… and so while they are thus engaged, I had hoped to provide the curtain effect mentioned… What I understand is that I would have to place a ‘read more…’ link in the content and then link it to the static WordPress site page for subscription sign up…IS THAT CORRECT ? -
Hi there,
I had hoped to provide the curtain effect mentioned…
For that, you’ll need to upgrade to the Business plan and use a plugin or custom code.
What I understand is that I would have to place a ‘read more…’ link in the content and then link it to the static WordPress site page for subscription sign up…IS THAT CORRECT ?
No. That technique won’t hide your premium content from non-paying visitors. You’ll need to use the Premium Content block so that only the users that have paid will have access to that specific content.

Thanks for your reply fstat ! I am gaining understanding with your help.>>!
Business Plan solution is great BUT beyond present budget expectations.
So… need to use the available work arounds on entry level plan… which i am upgrading to as soon as I can plan out my work flow after understanding what needs doing…I really need to see what the functional template for the Premium Content Block looks like so that i can envision how to integrate the user experience with the existing site (on Zoho)… would you be so kind as to provide a couple of links to sites that are using the premium content block (entry level plan) so I can view and understand better?

Hi there,
I can’t share any links in this public forum thread. But what you can do is try it out on your own site by purchasing a monthly plan. This way you won’t have to spend a lot of money and you’ll be able to get a refund within 7 days of purchase.

Thanks ftstat, I hope and expect a reputable company can provide the information reuired for planning and design WITHOUT complicating matters with credit card signups and refunds.
Specifically… the question is, a) can the subscription payment gateway be placed anywhere on a word press page and… b) can specific pages (or half pages) be designated as public viewing and specific pages be designated as subscriber viewing only?
-
a) Yes, as the Premium Content Block is a block, it can be placed anywhere in a post or page: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/premium-content-block/
To see how the block editor works, please see https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/
b) That is correct, yes.

Different question… any ideas how to create a wordpress website file from a Zoho download back up file? In other words, to use the Zoho website download back up file to convert 100% new wordpress website?
-
Hi there,
That’s not possible as Zoho export files cannot be imported into WordPress.com. You have to manually copy and paste your content into a WordPress.com site. For those cases we have created this guide:
