premium domain name

  I changed my wordpress.com domain name but I need to change the corrresponding premium name. “nicolelacour.wordpress.com” directs to “sacredheartstudio.me.” I want “sacredheartstudio.me” to be “nicolelacour.me.”

  Registered domain names cannot be changed. In this case, you’ll need to add your desired domain name via Store -> Domains in the blog’s Dashboard.

  That will mean that I will lose the content on “sacredheartstudio.me” and have to start from scratch, correct?

  I’ve noticed that if I type: “nicolelacour.wordpress.com” into my browser, my sacredheartstudio.me site comes up with that address in the browser window. For the sake of abandoning that name and business card purposes, perhaps I can simply use the wordpress name?

  No, you can add the domain via Store -> Domains in your blog’s Dashboard, then choose it as primary instead of sacredheartstudio.me.

  That’s how I added nicolelacour.wordpress.com.
  It doesn’t give me the option of adding nicolelacour.me. Do I have to purchase nicolelacour.me the way I purchased sacredheartstudio.me?

  Right, you have to purchase it as a separate domain from there.
