Premium or Free

Hello! I’m planning to buy a Premium blog ($2.99 per month) in the coming days. Can I assume that this blog will last for one calendar year? December 2016 to 2017? What will happen at the end of the year? At that time could I convert my blog to a free one if I wanted?

A Premium plan is actually $8.25 per month paid yearly in advance. A Personal plan is $2.99 x 12 paid yearly in advance. If you really think you’re only going to have your site for twelve months then the thing to do is once you have had the plan running for more than a month (and are past the point when you can claim a refund) you untick the “automatic renewal” in your account settings. Then after twelve months the site will revert to a free one (with the possibility of ads returning etc).

I have additional queries to the initial question:
1. During the first year of Personal Subscription will all traffic to my old xyz.wordpress.com blog be transffered to new xyz.com automatically ? or any additional purchase is required.2. What if after one year of Personal subscription with Wp.com I plan to go for Self Hosting WordPress.org, will my old xyz.wordpress.com remain available for someone else to use or it will be with me ?
3. If answer of #2, it will be with me what I can do to redirect its traffic to new website hosting?
