Is it possible to downgrade from the premium plan to a cheaper plan and get refunded for the partial year I have not used?

    Thanks!

WordPress.com doesn’t give partial refunds. A refund is only possible within a limited timeframe, https://wordpress.com/support/refunds/#refund-periods

    Hi there!

It is indeed possible to downgrade from the Business plan to the Premium plan, and we’d be happy to help with that.

Would you be willing to talk about why you’ve decided to downgrade? Did you have any issues with the Business plan? If there’s anything I can make better for you, I’d love to.

I got it prematurely. I just started my blog and feel like I am in WAY over my head and need to back track to learn the basics first.

    Thanks!

  • Understood! We can get you downgraded, but I should note:

In order to downgrade your site, we must revert it back to the point when you installed your first plugin or custom theme on 18 June 2023.

Your site’s content, theme, and customizations, such as widgets and menus, will return to the state they were in on this date. This process will also remove all plugins and custom themes, as well as any content added through them, and you will no longer be able to add plugins or custom themes to this site unless you upgrade again in the future.

What we can do is re-import any “non-plugin” content that you have added since the 18th June, after the downgrade started. Would you like us to go ahead with that?

Also, if you’d want to let us know more about what you’re working on with your blog, we can possibly point you in the direction of some resources to help you along too! I saw that you had some recipes already up; would they be the main focus?

I see. This is more complicated than I realized. Thank you fo your help! I really appreciate it! I think I will just keep the plan I have and try to use more things I have paid for in it. I have used a plug in for recipes.

Could you give me advice on what other features of the Business plan I could start using? My content will primarily be recipes and home organization.

    Thanks!

  • Hi @simplycountitalljoy, sure! The Business Plan is flexible enough to let you do just about anything you’d like with your site, so if you’ll let us know what your goals are from here and what issues you’re running into, we’ll be happy to make recommendations.

We also have some tutorials that can help. For your site, maybe this one will help?

There are a bunch of other handy tutorials on food blogging here, and since you’re using ads, here are some tips on building traffic.

Also, probably the most helpful Business Plan feature for that right now is live chat, which you can access here. It’s one of the options under Contact in the upper right. Or you’re also welcome to ask here in the community.

We’re glad to have you here, and I hope to hear back soon that your site is thriving. Cheers!
