  I am thinking about upgrading to the premium plan which says it’s $8.25 per month but when I went to go pay it I was being charged for $99 without any explanation. Can someone explain this to me?

  It charges for a full year up front – the 8.25 is the monthly cost

  Just to clarify, all WordPressdotcom upgrade plans are paid for the full year at checkout and are automatically renewed with the card on record unless you opt out.

  If you decide to cancel, you have 30 days from the date of purchase to request a refund on everything but new domain registration which needs to be cancelled within 48-hours of purchase. Here’s more about that:
