Premium plan question

I am considering a premium wordpress plan. Is there anyone who can help with a few questions?
1) How does changing the website address, i.e. removing the wordpress from the url affect existing links and how google searches from my website?
2) How does ad revenue work? Is there a rule of thumb about how many visits equals how much ad revenue?

These are great questions.
1. With that plan purchase you’ll register a custom domain. That domain will just take over the previous free address. That’s it. You don’t have to move the site content or anything. It takes Google 6 weeks to pick up a new site in their index.
2. Ad revenue varies widely. It depends on how much ad networks are paying, how much traffic you have, what type of content you’re producing on the site, your geographic location, and more.

Thanks for the reply. On point 1) does that mean I lose all of the “recognition” so to speak I’ve built up with Google over time and now google will just treat me like a completely new website?

Search engines will need to re-index your site at the new domain, which will take a few weeks. But once that’s complete, your search ranking should return to what it was before.
And if you verify your site in Google’s Search Console with the free address first, you can use the Address Change tool in Search Console to notify Google of the address change once you add the new domain, which should further minimize the impact of this change on your SEO.
