premium plugin

    Dear Sir or Madam,

I am thinking on having two domains: one for personal use and another one as a hobby and for both of them I need to install plugins.

Is the premium version needed to have the plugin option in the edit website?
At the moment I have only bought one domain. I am going to buy the other one as soon as I learn to use them correctly.

    Thank you in advance.

I am looking forward to have an answer of your part.

    Hey there!

    Thanks for your note.

WordPress.com does not offer the option to install third-party plugins. If you would like more control over plugins and the option to install your own, a WordPress.org setup would be the best solution for you.

This page explains the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org in more detail, if you’re interested:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

WordPress.com has a lot of built-in features that were inspired by popular plugins. Chances are, the feature you are looking for is already there! You can search our support site via this link:

    Home

Alternatively, if you tell me a little more about your goals, I can try to help you find the closest solution.

For any features on WordPress.com, the support page will explain how to set it up.

I hope this helps! If you have any other concerns, drop me a note. Thanks much!

    Hi,

Thanks a lot for your fast reply. My goal is to have the website in three lenguages (german, spanish, english)
I need to do it the plugin called qTranslate. However, I need first to have the option to install plugins in general.

You told me that I should use wordpress.org. How can I change my data to the “.org”-extension?

    Thank you again

    Hey there!

If you need that plugin, you definitely do need to move to a self-hosted, WordPress.org version of your website.

This guide will step you through the process of moving your site to a WordPress.org instance:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org

As we only support sites hosted here at WordPress.com, all issues with the new site – including the importing of the file – must be taken to the WordPress.org support community:

If you’d like assistance moving your WordPress.com site to WordPress.org, we have a service called Guided Transfer that does all the work for you. Check it out to see if it’s right for you:

On a side note, some WordPress.com users create multi-language sites, without plugins by doing the following:

    Set Up a Multilingual Site

This may not suit your needs, but I thought I’d mention it as a possible solution.

Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks much!
