Premium theme
-
I’ve purchased a premium theme and it’s not showing up in my Dashboard. Can someone please explain this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Go to appearance > themes, search for the name of the theme you purchased and there should be an “activate” link on it. Click the “activate” link and it should then become your theme.

Hi there—can you tell us which URL the theme was purchased for? And which theme you purchased.
-
No problem! It’s a premium theme called Photography by the Theme Foundry. It was purchased for ClearlyFocusedMediaWorks.com
-
OK, that explains it then—that isn’t a blog hosted on WordPress.com. Did you purchase it from the theme company directly maybe: at http://thethemefoundry.com/?
For a site you host (not hosted on WordPress.com) you’ll need to follow the theme installation instructions provided by the theme author.
Hope that helps!

And if you did buy it for use on WP.com, let us know and we can refund your purchase so you can purchase the self-hosted version.

Gotcha. In that case you won’t be able to activate it on a site not hosted on WordPress.com.
Would you like me to go ahead with the refund?
-
It’s through HostGator, which was recommended to use with WP, but if the theme isn;t going to work then yes I would like a refund. Just for future reference how can one tell which theme is going to work and which isn’t?
-
The theme you bought here is modlfied for wordpress.com sites, but that theme is available for your hostgator self-hosted site as well via http://thethemefoundry.com/ . You can go there and purchase it for your self-hosted site.

Thank you! Now having more issues. I tried to install a new theme. It gave me a prompt that it was installed successfully. After I tried to activate it, it gave me this error code on my admin page: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare youtube_shortcode() (previously declared in /home/cfmw/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/modules/shortcodes/youtube.php:203) in /home/cfmw/public_html/wp-content/themes/invictus-a-premium-photographer-portfolio-theme/invictus/doitmax_fw/max_shortcodes.php on line 285
Now I can’t even access my site. Any suggesstions?

This is the support forum for sites hosted on WordPress.com. Yours is a self-hosted WordPress.org install, so you will have to seek help at the correct support forum, which is http://wordpress.org/support/
