Premium theme purchase

Just want to check…is the purchase of a premium theme a separate item from the upgrade to premium service? It looks like premium service is an annual expense, but I noticed purchase of a premium theme is a one time buy…please clarify. I think if I upgrade to the premium service I could use that with a free theme, or take the next step and purchase a premium theme that is mine regardless of if / when I renew the premium service, correct? Thanks!

Yes it is a separate purchase. Yes a premium theme purchase is a one time purchase for the life of the blog while hosted at WordPress.com and the theme is not exportable.

Note that the free plan and the Premium plan do does not allow you to upload your own themes or plugins. Ok, that’s what I thought. And for this blog I don’t want/need e-commerce, I intend to keep it on WP.com. But I think I would like the premium features, and possibly a premium theme. Good to know I can make those purchases separately. Thanks for the speedy response! ~ Sheila
