Premium themes and your own hosting company

  Hi

  Can I use a wordpress.com premium theme on the wordpress software and use my own hosting company. I am able to buy the theme but I need the flexibility of the software version. Its the Tortuga premium design, there is a version downloadable on the wordpress.org themes site but it looks very different. I want to keep the responsive design.

  If you are referring to these Premium themes, they can only be used on WordPressdotcom sites for the life of the site while it is hosted here.

  Some Premium themes designed by Automattic (WordPressdotcom’s parent company) can be purchased for use elsewhere. Otherwise you would need to find the theme author (Tortuga was authored by ThemeZee) and purchase the theme from them directly.
