premium trial

has there been any thought to allowing trials of the premium themes? private view only.
there are three that i really want to evaluate and compare. the preview is virtually useless on them. the refund offer is nice but i’m not just considering one theme. to really compare them i need to buy them all and then ask for a refund??? thats crazy.
please help.

yep, i’m familiar with the live preview. unfortunately it doesnt work well on any of the premium themes i’m interested in. it just shows them in a very plain blog style.
i’m also familiar with the 30 day refund. this is nice but really inadequate if i’m seriously wanting to evaluate more than one theme.
there needs to be a way to truly evaluate these themes. i’m happy to pay for one now but it would be ridiculous to buy four and return three. would also be silly to just try one at a time. i’m sure WP knows that people experiment with a lot of themes before settling on the one they publish. i applaud the notion of having premium versions but we need a way to evaluate them.

We have considered a way to offer trials, but at this time we can only offer the 30-day refund period as a sort of “trial.”

…seems like an easy obstacle to overcome. and an important one.

“Seems like an easy obstacle overcome” doesn’t always apply when it comes to the web since to do this may require some serious coding that people without programming experience wouldn’t know about. As a web designer I’ve seen “”Seems like an easy obstacle to overcome” take 2 weeks and require 700 lines of code plus all the debugging, etc.
Just sayin’. I’m not familiar with all the backend stuff here so my comment above is just a general one.

i am familiar with the backend stuff. there’s no reason this should be a big deal. even if it took ‘2 weeks and 700 lines’ wordpress is kinda in the business of selling this stuff.
