Premium Upgrade, but ads still appear on my blogs in Safari
-
I have two WordPress.com blogs (1. reasarch.com; 2. valacoarchive.com), each running a Premium Upgrade. I generally use Firefox as my browser, where everything seems to work well. I recently checked my sites on Safari (without logging in) to see how they functioned in other browsers, and was dismayed to find my blogs riddled with advertisements of all sorts. I checked the blogs on Safari using a different computer and everything seemed fine. This leads me to suspect the problem is with my laptop (Macbook Pro, OS X 10.6.8), but I wanted to check with WordPress Support first, because $99/yr is a lot of money to pay for a feature that doesn’t work…
Any insight you might offer would be appreciated.

I don’t see any ads at http://valacoarchive.com/ or http://reasarch.com/
Would you please take a screenshot of the ads you see and upload it via Media -> Add New in your blog’s Dashboard so we can take a look?
Here’s how to make a screenshot:
Please note that it’s possible for ads to appear in your browser that were *not* placed there by WordPress.com. These ads are sometimes caused by malware or a virus, but more often it is due to a browser extension or toolbar that you may have installed in your browser.
These sites have further explanation and suggestions for eliminating the ads:

Hi macmanx,
I ended up figuring it out myself: it was malware, as you suspected, related to an extension in my browser. Oddly, though, it was an extension running in Firefox, and yet, the ads only showed up in Safari.
In any case, I was able to purge my system of all related files and everything seems to be clear now.
Thanks,
