Premium Upgrade = Mapping refund?
-
I finished my site two days ago, paid a fee to map my existing domain, then attempted to purchase the No Ads upgrade.
I’ve since been advised that this no longer exists as a standalone, although there are many links pointing to it on the site, such as this one: https://store.wordpress.com/premium-upgrades/no-ads/
which says I can ‘get rid of ads’ for A$39 per annum. It now seems I have to purchase Premium, which I’m happy to do but it appears that mapping is included in this bundle. It seems to me that I should be eligible to receive a refund for the mapping fee I’ve already paid.
If someone could get back to me on this, that would be great.
It would reduce confusion if you removed references to the No Ads upgrade from the site. I would have purchased Premium up front if it had been clear No Ads was now only available as part of a plan.
Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You absolutely do not have to pay for the domain mapping twice. When you upgrade to premium the cost of your existing mapping subscription should be automatically deducted from your purchase price. If it’s not let me know and I’ll issue you a refund for the difference right away.

Thanks for the heads up. Links like the one you shared should only be available to users with older accounts who were grandfathered into the old upgrade style. It’s definitely confusing when they are visible to new users. Do you remember how you navigated to that link?

Thanks. That clarifies things and I’ll get onto upgrading immediately.
Re the link, it comes up as the first result when I google WordPress + No Ads. I was also taken there last night when I clicked on a “Why Am I Seeing These Ads?”-type link from within my blog. The page that took me to said it was because the blog owner hadn’t purchased a No Ads upgrade for A$39 and the link from there looped back to the url I noted in my first post.
Initially I thought this might be because another admin on my site is grandfathered in, but I get the same links even when I log out of WP entirely so it doesn’t seem to be related to my account at all.
I hope that helps. Thanks again for your quick reply.

Update: Just paid for Premium upgrade and the mapping $$ don’t appear to have been deducted. If you could organise a refund as per you note above that would be great. Cheers.

I just processed your refund. You should see the funds back in your account soon.
Thanks for the info on the No Ads links as well. That’s very helpful!
