Preserving Fonts with Offline Writing

I haven’t blogged in a while, and was happy to see all the changes WordPress has made. I’m also starting to have memory problems, for I KNOW I used to write in Microsoft Word, then easily upload (without cutting and pasting) into my wordpress blog AND it would keep my collection of cool fonts! So what am I doing wrong? As I said, it may be my memory or the new wordpress–but how do I simply upload a story I’ve written into a post (without cut/paste/copy) AND keep my fonts?
    Can anyone help an old-timer?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,
Changes have been made to the Editor recently that did affect those using Microsoft WORD which is no web compliant. See here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/the-paste-as-word-button-has-been-removed-from-the-visual-editor?replies=2 The paste from Word icon has been removed. The long and short of this is if you want to have your “collection of cool fonts” displaying in your posts and pages then you will have to learn how to use the HTML text editor and code them in.

    thanks timethief…kool blog.
if i can impose once more: it sounds like i’m going to lose the ability to use fonts that “fit my story” as I just don’t have time/inclination to learn coding. The last programming I did was in BASIC.
anyway, I DO recall sometimes the fonts would show, sometimes they wouldn’t, and wonder if embedding them might have been why and work now?
At any rate, is there ANY other way to copy from a word processor to wordpress w/o using copy/paste/cut functions? (discounting fonts altogether, I HAVE to use a WP as that’s how I write. If it was simply a short post I could of course write it in wordpress, I realize… THANKS!

I recall BASIC. I also recall Fortran-77 and working on a VAX. No kidding – I’m that old… lol :D

You can still copy and paste by using icon 5 Row 2 in the Visual editor. It strips out all code and provides plain text only.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2

Go here and enable this > Settings > Writing
    Formatting
_ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically
    “save changes”

I recommend using Windows Live Writer for posting to your blog > http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/windows-live-writer/
