Press This
-
I have two mapped domains hosted by wordpress.com.
http://prgnewshawaii.com.
http://kh6jrm.com.
Everytime I use the “Press This” bookmarklet I get the following answer:
“Cheating, uh?” I can’t integrate any article or snippet into either wordpress.com blog. Is the “Press This” usable only in self-hosted blogs? I believe this bookmarklet uses java script and may be stripped out for wordpress.com users. If this is the case, is there some other way to have a bookmarklet without resorting to a self-hosted wordpress site?Aloha, Russell Roberts
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The cheating uh message only appears if you don’t have third-party cookies enabled on your browser. Without cookies, you won’t have the proper credentials to make changes to your blog and some of the features will not be available to you. Would you please make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled?

Hi Russ,
There are a couple other things going on here, in addition to what Timethief mentioned:
1. The site at http://kh6jrm.com/ is owned by a different WordPress.com user (not your username prgnewshawaii). You’ll need to be logged in to the account that owns that site in order to use the “Press This” bookmarklet with that site — your account prgnewshawaii doesn’t have permission to manage or post to that site.
If you’d like, you can give that account permission by logging in to the account that owns the site and adding prgnewshawaii as a user: Inviting Contributors, Followers, and Viewers
2. Right now, your account has an old Jetpack connection for http://www.prgnewshawaii.com/ as well as the WordPress.com site http://prgnewshawaii.com/ . That might be causing trouble when you try to use the “Press This” bookmarklet for that site. Since the domain is now being used with a WordPress.com site (and not a Jetpack-linked, self-hosted site) would you like me to remove the old Jetpack connection for http://www.prgnewshawaii.com/ from your account?
You can also disconnect that old site with this guide: Disconnect Jetpack Sites
Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

Thanks, timethief and rachelmcr for your suggestions. I’ve removed the old Jetpack connection for http://www.prgnewshawaii.com/ from my account. I’ll also attend to the “Press This” issue previously described. I appreciate your help. Aloha, Russ.
