Press This bookmarklet gone?

  I recently replaced my computer, and I no longer have a ‘Press This’ bookmarklet. I went to install it again, but the instructions at https://en.support.wordpress.com/press-this/ don’t work, as the ‘Settings -> Writing’ page does not have a ‘Press This’ bookmarklet to drag to the bar. How are we supposed to get ‘Press This’ now? Or has WordPress.com silently discontinued that feature?

  I don’t think we have that bookmarklet feature anymore but I’m not sure so I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff response.   I still have a “Press This” bookmarklet on another computer, and it sort-of works (not as well as it used to, since it now throws away all formatting including paragraphing), but it is still a little better than having to do a lot of cut and paste to grab content and URLs from another web page.

  I see it with Chrome on my MacBook Pro, but didn’t with Firefox on my new Linux box at work. I’ll double-check the next time I go into the office, in case I overlooked it somehow.

  Okay, let me know. I checked with Chrome and saw the button, but have not checked Firefox. I’ll go ahead and check with Firefox as well.

  I logged in on my Linux box at work, running Firefox 45.3.0, (Build identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:45.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/45.0) looking at https://gasstationwithoutpumps.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-writing.php there is no bookmarklet (top or bottom).

  I don’t see it on my end either – although that is under your wp-admin which may not display the press this option any longer. I do see it under the new dashboard here though. Let me know if you are able to see it while logged in.

  It is on the new dashboard, which I never use, for both Firefox and Chrome.

  Yeah, you’ll have to grab it from the new dash, but once you do, you won’t need to visit there again since you’ll make it a bookmark.
