Press This just submits nonsense codes

    Every time I click on Press This bookmarklet, it just displays and submits a jumbled code, both in my article title and content. Little wonder why the Huff Post seems to reject my submitted blog articles, since they don’t make much sense when they reach them as code. This is why I prefer to use Blogger, since WordPress is a code based platform. This makes it very difficult for those of us who do not understand or want html.

    I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance because I don’t have the issue you report. Please post a screenshot. You can use http://snag.gy/ to share screenshots. Or you can use the WordPress.com guide I linked to and upload it to your Media Library, and return to this thread to provide the file name so Staff can examine it.

    Hi there!

    Thanks for the screenshot. It looks like you’re viewing the post through the Text editor. If you switch to the Visual editor does it look normal?

    Have you published one of these posts? Can you send me a link?

    The fact that I have to find my Media Library in order to post a screenshot rather than just upload an attachment as is usual these days is perhaps why I hate WordPress. They never were ones to make things simple. I don’t have the time for this.     WordPress cannot even publish a proper link. Since Press This is a WordPress bookmarklet, I aim to avoid anything connected to WordPress, since it seems only useful to coders and NOT user friendly or WYSIWYG.

    I switched to the Visual editor and got this nonsense:

    I’m sorry you’re having trouble with this. And I totally agree that using the Media Library for screenshots is less than ideal. We’re hoping to improve that in the future.

    Thanks for letting me know you’re using the Press This bookmarklet. That should definitely not be happening.

    I just tested the Press This bookmarklet associated with my test site and I’m not able to recreate what you’re seeing. Can you try adding the bookmarklet from your site again?

    I did try adding it repeatedly. I just have to accept that despite all the positive publicity WordPress gets, I find it a disaster and the fact that it cannot even process the most basic and simple of things speaks for itself. I will be removing the “Press This” so-called bookmarklet and write my reviews to warn others to stay clear.
