Pressrow: Centering post titles and removing Date and Comments Closed
-
http://positivelyorphaned.wordpress.com
I have been searching the forum for over an hour but I haven’t been able to find my answer yet. Perhaps someone here can help. I have custom CSS.
I would like to be able to center-align the post titles only.
I’d also like to remove the Date above the post titles.
Lastly, how can I remove the area below posts which says “comments off!”
Thanks a million to anyone who has some advice.
Thank you very much.

I see that the sidebar on the blog in the Pressrow theme has fallen. This is typically caused by an open HTML tag in one of your posts.
Go to settings > Writing and select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then click “Save Changes.”
Now, starting with your latest post, open it in the editor, make one minor change such as adding a space and then deleting it, and then click “Update Post.” Check your blog and see if it is back to normal. If not, open the next post and do the same thing until it goes back to normal.
Also as all of your posts do have large images in them I recommend setting your front page to display fewer posts, as readers do not appreciate having to scroll and scroll and scroll.

Blog pages show at most ___ posts
Don’t forget to click “save Changes” when you are done.P.S. The volunteers who help with CSS don’t appear to be logged in at this time.

Thanks timethief. I have made the changes you recommended. I wasn’t aware that the sidebar had fallen as it looks fine on my computer in google chrome. I have also checked it in IE and it looks fine there, too. Would you mind telling me if you still see a problem with the sidebar? If so, I can continue down updating more of the older posts (I’ve only done one so far).
Should I continue waiting for a CSS volunteer about my original query?

I’m using Firefox 3.5.6 and the entire sidbar has fallen and is displaying under <-Older entries

As far as CSS advice goes you have no alternative other than waiting. That’s because only a couple of volunteers help with CSS and aren’t frequently available.

If you use http://browsershot.org you can see how your blog displays in various browsers.

Thanks again timethief. If it wasn’t for you, I’d have NO idea about the sidebar issue. I followed all your instructions. Hopefully it’s looking better in firefox now? Thanks a million. I’ll be hanging out waiting for some help with CSS. I can’t seem to find my issue, which is odd.

Please note that the reason the font is the tiny size it is in this post is probably because you are copying and pasting text. http://positivelyorphaned.org/2010/01/13/sisters-waiting-in-haiti/
This is not the way to go. The editor contains two icons fro pop-up boxes that we can copy and paste text from elsewhere into. The software will then strip out all the garbage code for formatting contained in it and preserve only correct HTML.
