Pressrow CSS issues
-
As I’m overchallenged with this new support form under http://support.wordpress.com/contact/ (I did – I saw – I expected) which requires all three fields to be filled, I thought I give it a try with the forums. Let’s hope some support staff reads it (and gives me a hint on how to use the new support form). But lets go on.
I came across two CSS issues in the Pressrow theme which I use on my blog.
First issue is about the
.textwidgetclass which is assigned to all text widgets in my sidebar. What’s the reason for the padding there? Because of the padding my widgets differ in style from the other widgets in the sidebar like the search widget, recent posts, …The headlines in the text widgets don’t touch the grey background like the other widgets and they look like being moved slightly to the right because of the left padding of 5px. I made an image to explain what I mean:
http://iqatrophie.files.wordpress.com/2009/01/textwidget_padding.jpgI’m talking about the red marked space. The green arrows (search widget) show how it should look like without the padding.
Second issue is about viewing images through the Media library. Clicking on any image under “Media – Library” opens my blog showing my header and the chosen image. e.g. http://iqatrophie.wordpress.com/2009/01/05/kopfgrafik/brain_question/
It seems like the bar at the bottom of the image (showing the categories & comments) is missing some CSS formatting because the images (cabinet & eexclamation mark) look like being cut off by the surrounding box. I hopefully explained that good enough. :)

No sense in contacting support about CSS: as explained at the top of the CSS forum, there is NO official support for CSS. On top of that, there are only a few people in the forums who are well versed in it. So be prepared to wait until one of the gurus shows up.
My two cents (FWIW)
On the text widget – if you don’t like the padding, take it out.
The second image is the attachment page. You are going to have to review the CSS on that in order to try to fix it.

You probably misunderstood me there. I don’t have the CSS Upgrade.
I’m asking to get an explanation why staff added a padding to the textwidget class. It’s an issue with the CSS code of the theme. I hope this will be fixed because it breaks the style with all other widgets in every Pressrow themed blog on WordPress.com.
I contacted support about CSS & Pressrow several times before and they always fixed it in the right way. So there is sense in contacting support if it’s a glitch in the theme. All I want to know is, if it is a glitch or why they added a padding there which styles text widgets on Pressrow different to the other widgets in the sidebar.
I don’t see a sense in styling text widgets in another way and reverting it afterwards with the help of custom CSS code.
Nevertheless thanks for your efforts.

btw. do you know how to handle the new support form? ;)

Ah – that wasn’t clear from your post. It sounded like YOU wanted to change it.
As for the support form – fill in whatever you want in there. I use the last box for the long part.

The attachment template for Pressrow was pretty bad. Should be more consistent with posts and pages now. Also updated the text widget style to be consistent with the rest of the sidebar.

Thanks alot mtdewvirus. :D
Looks perfect now. Same thing about the attachment template. Great job.
